APRN-BC/CNS/FNP Job Opportunities

We are currently seeking applicants for a new APRN position. This position will be primarily dedicated to our northern service area, throughout the CMH district. This is a quickly expanding service area in all areas: outpatient, inpatient, dialysis unit, outreach locations, etc.

A APRN provides primary care services, including assessing and managing patients in the clinic following established standards and practices of the clinic. The APRN must honor the State of Missouri’s Nurse Practitioner’s guidelines and ethical commitment. All communication to include privacy and security of patient protected health information must be exercised at all times. The employee must perform all other duties as assigned.

POSITION QUALIFICATION

Education:

  • BSN, MSN preferred.
  • Successful completion of an approved Nurse Practitioner Program.
  • Current licensed by the state as RN.
  • Proof of continuing medical education requirements.
  • Maintain current CPR/BCLS, ACLS or PALS certifications.

Experience:

  • One to two years experience in a medical office environment required, two to five years preferred.
  • Experience in critical care is required as either a RN, CNS, FNP, APRN-BC, etc.

Ability and Personal Characteristics: 

  • Work effectively as part of a team in a diverse environment.
  • Have excellent patient relation skills.
  • Have high productivity.
  • Have continuous concern with quality.
  • Willingness to follow good medical practices.
  • Must be comfortable and willing to learn multiple EHR/EMRs.
  • Must be comfortable working independently upon completion of training (6-12 months).

COMPLIANCE

  • Adhere to office policies and procedures and all Federal, State, and Local billing requirements to include HIPAA Privacy and Security. Must understand and adhere to “incident to” policies.

ACCOUNTABILITY

Reports directly to the Physician for clinically related issues and to the Administrator for work schedules, office policies, etc.               

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Obtains and documents complete medical history and physical data on patients.
  • Interprets and integrates data to determine appropriate and therapeutic procedures as needed.
  • Performs a complete physical exam and records findings.  Collaborates with physician in managing acute and long-term medical needs of patients.
  • Orders appropriate laboratory and diagnostic procedures.
  • Synthesizes data to determine preliminary diagnosis and therapeutic plan utilizing principles of prevention.  Collaborates with supervising physician. 
  • Administers medications and injections according to physician direction.
  • Sutures minor lacerations.
  • Interviews and advises patients regarding health and illness prevention.  Recommends community resources to meet patient and family needs.
  • Instructs patient and family regarding medications and treatment instructions.  Provides patient education.
  • Triages patient telephone calls and provides consultation.
  • Manages medical and surgical emergencies.
  • Follows proper cleaning and sterilization of equipment and performs these functions when necessary.
  • Cleans and inspects equipment after each use, promptly notifies clinical manager of malfunctions, problems, or needed repairs.
  • Provides accurate information on all documentation.
  • Documents medical records with all patient encounters in the office and on the phone.
  • Completes all necessary and/or required forms.
  • Works directly with supervising physician to document and obtain physician signature as appropriate.
  • Understands and adheres to “incident-to” and “non-incident-to” service and billing guidelines using proper provider numbers based upon service conditions at all times.
  • Exercises HIPAA confidentiality and security measures at all times during office hours and outside of the office.
  • Attend and actively participate in scheduled meetings.
  • Coordinate and complete telemedicine/virtual care visits when scheduled.
